Burt is running for re-election in 2012. He was initially slated to face fellow incumbent Rod Afair in the June 5, 2012 Republican primary. However, Adair withdrew in April 2012. Burt will face Stephanie L. Dubois in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
